Stripe is the payment platform that handles your gift sales securely and sends the money straight to your bank — we never touch it. If you don't have a Stripe account yet, here's how to set one up:
- Go to stripe.com and click Sign up (or, easier, just click Connect Stripe from your Gift Shop — Stripe will let you create a new account right in that flow, you don't need to visit their site first).
- Enter your email, name, and a password, then verify your email address.
- Stripe will ask for some basic details about you or your business — see the next article for exactly what's needed and why.
- Once your account is created, come back to your My Gift Shop dashboard page and click Connect Stripe to link it (if you haven't already done this as part of sign-up).
Creating a Stripe account is free, and there's no cost to you beyond Stripe's own standard payment processing fees, which are deducted automatically from each sale before the money reaches your bank.
