What happens when I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Deleting your account cancels your subscription and permanently erases your data from our servers. It cannot be undone, and your links stop working immediately. This is permanentThere is no restore, no grace period and no backup we can retrieve for you afterwards. If you are unsure, downgrade to the free plan instead — that keeps everything in place at no cost. Redirect what is in print Anything on a business card, poster or packaging will break. Point those codes somewhere useful before you delete. Tell your audience If your bio page is the link in your social profiles, replace it first so followers do not land on an error. Check your alias Once released, your page name becomes available for someone else to claim. Deleting The option is in Account menu › Settings. How will I be charged?

You are charged once at the start of each billing period, automatically, on the card you used at checkout — until you cancel. Payment is taken without you having to do anything. Where to see your charges Open Billing Go to Account menu › Billing. Review the history Every payment is listed with its date and amount. Download an invoice Open any payment to get an invoice you can file or send to your accountant. If a payment fails Cards expire and banks decline things. If a renewal does not go through, the payment is retried and you are emailed about it — so the first thing to do is check the email address on your account is one you actually read. Update your card Add a valid card under Account menu › Billing. Check for a block Some banks decline online subscriptions by default; a quick call usually clears it. Ask us If it still will not go through, open a support ticket and we will look at what the processor reported. Never send card details to usWe will never ask for your card number, CVV or password — not by email, not in a support ticket. Card details belong only on Stripe's secure checkout form.

How do I connect my Stripe account to my Gift Shop?

Connect once from Account menu › Payouts. Every Gift Shop block on every one of your bio pages then uses that account — there is nothing to connect per page. Step by step Open Payouts Go to Account menu › Payouts. Connect Follow Stripe's form. If you do not have an account yet, this creates one — see creating a Stripe account. Check your status The same screen shows where you stand: not started, pending review, or ready to be paid. Sell Once you are cleared, existing Gift Shop blocks start taking payments. You do not need to rebuild or re-save them. What the statuses mean Not connectedBlocks show, but cannot take money PendingStripe is still reviewing or needs more from you ReadyPayments and payouts are both enabled Stuck on pending?Stripe is usually waiting on one specific document. Reopen the payout screen — Stripe states exactly what is outstanding, and the status updates by itself once satisfied. You can follow your sales at Dashboard › Revenue.

What information will Stripe ask for, and is it safe?

Stripe asks for the details any regulated payment processor must collect: who you are, where you live, and the bank account to pay. You enter it on Stripe's own form — we never see it. Anyone moving money on someone else's behalf is legally required to verify who is receiving it. These rules exist to stop fraud and money laundering, and they apply to every payment processor — the requirement is not specific to us or to Stripe. Who sees what Stripe sees your identity details They are entered directly into Stripe's form, inside their systems. We see none of it Not your bank account, not your ID, not your date of birth. We hold only an account reference and whether you are cleared to be paid. You see your buyers' emails So you can deliver what was bought. Card numbers are never shown to you, or to us. How to spot a fakeWe will never ask for your bank details, card numbers, ID documents or password over email or in a support ticket. Real requests happen only inside Stripe's own form, which you reach from Account menu › Payouts.

What blocks can I add to my bio page?

Everything on a bio page is a block. There are blocks for links and text, for embedding music and video, for collecting contact details and bookings, and for taking money — add them in any order and drag them where you want. Every block you add pushes the next one further down, so the question is not what you can put on the page but what earns its place above the fold. Check the order against your statisticsThe page's statistics show taps per block. If something near the bottom is getting tapped anyway, it deserves to be higher; if something at the top gets nothing, it is taking up the best space on the page. Which blocks you have Every plan includes the blocks most pages are built from — links, text, images, contact details, social embeds, gifts and video. Some of the more specialised ones, such as products, newsletters, RSS, file downloads and embedded audio, are part of the paid plans. How do I choose or change my bio page address?

Your address is the part after the slash — gomy.bio/yourname. It can use letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, and you can change it later, though every copy of the old one stops working when you do. What is allowed Letters and numbersA–Z, a–z and 0–9 Hyphen and underscorethe-coffee-cart and mike_fitness both work At least three charactersShorter addresses are not accepted Nothing elseNo spaces, dots, slashes or accented characters A small list of words is reserved and cannot be claimed by anyone — things like admin, login, help and support. They are refused because a page at one of those addresses could be mistaken for part of the site itself. The check is on the whole address, so helpwithmath is fine even though help is not. Choosing one worth keeping You will be saying this out loud, printing it, and typing it into profiles for years. Two tests are worth applying before you commit: Say it down a phone If you have to spell it, or explain where the hyphen goes, it will cost you visitors every time you share it. Type it on a phone keyboard Underscores need a keyboard switch on most phones. Hyphens do not. Changing it later You can change your address whenever you like, from the page's settings. The moment you do, the old address stops resolving and becomes available for someone else to claim. Anything already printed will breakBusiness cards, posters, packaging, the link in your profiles, and any QR code that encodes the address directly. If the address is on something physical, change it only if you are prepared to reprint — or point a dynamic QR code at it instead, which can be repointed without reprinting.
